Worker-owned home care cooperatives are motivated to improve the quality of home care jobs and home based care. But motivation is only half of the equation. Without adequate revenue, home care cooperatives are limited in their ability to make job quality investments. Pooling resources and power, Elevate Cooperative offers products and services that drive the profitability, growth and influence of home care cooperatives.

What

Elevate Cooperative’s products and services are designed specifically for home care cooperatives based on needs identified by home care cooperatives.

Launched in November, Elevate Cooperative’s first product, elevate.coop, is a comprehensive website and digital marketing and sales solution that was designed in collaboration with home care cooperatives. Home care cooperatives can join the platform for less than a quarter of what a single cooperative would pay on the open market. This is just the beginning. Elevate’s member cooperatives will direct the development and rollout of new products and services that fulfill unmet needs and enhance the sustainability, profitability and impact of individual cooperatives and the sector as a whole.

Elevate Cooperative is being developed by the ICA Group with financial support from private foundations, government grants and individual donors. Special recognition is due to the Cooperative Development Foundation, a key strategic partner and financial supporter of this work. Scheduled to launch in 2022, Elevate Cooperative will be an independent cooperative entity, owned and governed by member cooperatives.

Donations will support the thousands of hours of staff time it takes to build and launch a national secondary cooperative including cooperative focus groups, interviews and needs assessments, product and service research and development, financial modeling and cooperative infrastructure. Once launched, cooperatives that join Elevate Cooperative will make an equity investment and pay monthly dues and additional product and service fees.
